We’ve gone back and forth across Canada, a dip or two into the USA, and an excursion (almost without kids) to Belize. Have a Look!
This was actually a 3 week long business trip for Everette to scout out Resorts/Hotels for sale with consideration for his partners to purchase for investment/benefits to Joint Venturers. We took Anders with us (8.5m old) and just discovered I was pregnant with Laars (but didn’t tell Everette until the day we arrived in Belize!)
Across Canada for our first time. Took just 16 days from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton while having some restful days thrown in along the way. And virtually as soon as we arrived we did a tour of the Cabot Trail as it was the perfect time of year….October.
We took a jaunt over to Prince Edward Island (PEI) which was fun to see; the land of Anne of Green Gables!
We rented a house on the coast south of Halifax and had a great tour around mainland Nova Scotia. That was a wonderful trip, especially the Annapolis Valley area and a drive/ferry all the way down Digby Neck in the Bay of Fundy. Great trip!!
When we first rented our place at River Bourgeois it was for just 6 months. But then we wanted it extended for another 6 months. Well, the landlord wanted use of the house for 2 weeks in the summer (they live in AZ and want to escape the heat) so we took a trip out to Niagara Falls with destination of a huge house we rented in Collingwood, ON with swimming pool and all. It was another wonderful trip. 2008 was a busy year.
The kids and I (minus Danaka) flew from Halifax, NS to Vancouver, BC as our van had kinda bit the dust. Everette and Danaka drove from NS to AZ to locate a rental for the family for the winter.
This is Everette and Danaka’s driving route to AZ, then they flew to Vancouver to meet us.
They arrived on Sunday, we bought our 15 passenger van on Monday, and all 11 of us headed to AZ on Tuesday, arriving in time for breakfast Thursday morning.
After a winter (basically) in AZ we drove back east, visiting friends in GA, checking out Pennsylvania, and arriving back in NS.
In the spring we headed back west to our starting point (Qualicum Beach) before moving/settling down in Sooke, BC (southern tip of Vancouver Island). We didn’t do any more traveling until 2012. We developed a biz we called DrySteam Team and let Rauchelle (our 2nd born dd) do the adventuring (she hiked part of the Appalachian Trail southbound 2011).
