Anders: is 9yo, our little dare devil. He’s been climbing since he could walk, gets in predicaments that makes others uncomfortable, and rarely gets hurt. He is a natural in the water which we really hadn’t discovered until hitting the beaches on the Baja.

Yes, it sounded fun.

Rain and snow, and sword fighting with Mitchell in the backyard.

Snorkeling, finding new things each time.
What types of things have you learned since hitting the road?

Have your fears materialized yet?
Yes, I really miss my sisters and Seth and Marin.
Are you glad your family is doing this slow long-term travel? Why or why not?
Yes, because it’s fun going on hikes, exploring new places, meeting new people.
July 2014 back in Canada (age 8)
Are you happy about being back in Canada? Why or why not?
Sort of. Yes, because….I don’t really know why I miss Canada. Maybe because it’s where I was born. And No, because I’m missing the United States and Mexico, and all the people we met there.
Would you like to travel some more?
Yes, maybe for two more years! I’d like to go to more beaches, New York, Europe (specifically Italy & Germany).
What has been your favourite things about traveling?
Meeting new people, seeing new things (sting rays, tarantulas, scorpions), tasting new foods, and learning new sports.
What’s your favourite food now?
While you’ve been in Canada for the summer, what have you been doing?
Volunteering at the farm.
What is the best thing about volunteering at the farm?
Working with animals. I really like the fainting goats and the chickens.
(mom’s note…looks like from these 3 pics Anders never changes his shirt. A good guess is this is his Fav shirt)
Mom’s Questionnaire May 31, 2015
When we were in Canada you said what you wanted to see the most in Mexico was Hotel Perico again. Now that you are here, is it as good as you remember? What is it about Perico that you like so much?
It’s better than I remember!! I like all the green grass, the pretty plants…this place is a lot greener now than it was even just a few months ago. The people here are really nice, both the managers and the people who stay here for quite a while.
How do you occupy your days?
I run around on the trail; eat; I like to swim; play games on the computer; climb trees; talk to whoever the manager is at reception; watch a movie; talk with whoever!
So, you told me the other day that you no longer really want to go to Germany. Is there some other place that you’d really like to go?
I would like to go to South America.
Why South America?
As long as its not too hot, I’d like to go there. I don’t really know why. Just because.
