Go To The Movies

We use our laptop computers for our Movie Theatre.  Neither are big but they are do-able.  In the past, when we drove across/around Canada & the USA we did have one of those eensy-weensy DVD players for traveling, and in our 15-passenger van you need a telescope to see from the back row.

We have downloaded over 30 movies onto a USB stick so that saves us a lot of storage space in the van and it doesn’t skip like a DVD might on a rough and bumpy road.  We also have a small selection of DVD’s that we keep mostly in sleeves or a zippered case to save on space.  I wonder how long they will actually last before the sand-that-sneaks-in-everywhere scratches them up beyond belief.

Ev driving, computerWe usually allow the kids to watch movies while we travel, helping the time pass more pleasantly for all of us.  The biggest issue is the ability to see from the back bench when the computer is on the cooler in-between our front seats.  Somebody from the front bench is the ‘Manager’.

Some days while in camp the family will want to watch a movie together but if it’s too hot and stuffy in the van then we’ll set up a theatre outside.

We don’t always have our vestibule set up, but when we do it certainly can be a wonderful place to watch a movie without the heat and glare of the sun on the screen.
