Backyard Aquaponics

We ran into Beth and John near Cabo San Lucas 2 winters past, when I recognized Beth slipping into the swimming pool one evening while Everette and I sat in the hot tub.  (I don’t have pics of Beth and John, but the link takes me back to the beautiful setting where we bumped into them)  Beth was a fellow homeschooling mom from Nanaimo.  John was our daughter Rauchelle’s naturapath back when she was 8 years old (she’s 26 now!)

Now FB-friends, I was thrilled to see Beth post that her Vancouver Island Aquaponics was now set up in her backyard, and we were able to go check it out.

Beth and Toveli soon after started talking about herbs, and wild foods, and hit off a new friendship around foraging and wild plants.  Beth has invited Toveli back to learn more, and maybe make some salves or something.  Toveli is keen on that idea, and before we even returned to our van she was requesting…actually, demanding, “We’ve really got to come back here Mom!”  I love when they express that excitement about something.
