Golden Spikes

fortuneThis was the fortune in Maret’s cookie, and as silly as it may seem, it was the nudge for her to do request what she had been thinking about for a few months.

“Mom, will you cut my hair?”

“Sure!  Do you know how you want it cut?”

“A Mohawk!”

So we hacked and chopped until both her and I were satisfied with it.  Then we bought some hair spike to get it to defy gravity.  That was fine for a few days

but then we had our eyes on turning it blue.

So we bought some Splat and proceeded to bleach her hair (if you know me much at all, you’d know we rarely do anything cosmetically and certainly not bleaching, but sometimes we do something purely for the fun of supporting our kids in a new experience).

I had a sneaking suspicion that she was going to like that new look without even adding the blue, and sure enough we used the blue elsewhere.  But you’ll have to wait to see what shape that took.

But as for Maret, here’s her new look:

This smirk wasn't in regards to her hair. She really likes it. The sour face is more likely in response to something from her big brother who was sitting right next to her.
