When we were at Hamilton Petting Farm we recognized a fellow walking through the gate, and had a few minutes to get updates about family/business of Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, from the owner Clarke Gourlay.  And that gave us the great idea to head on over to the farm, another place we’ve enjoyed visiting over the years, watching it develop from a concept the Nancy Gourlay got while on a ski hill in Europe to the acquiring of the land, animals, & all the skills necessary for running a success.

We enjoyed them all, except this Gooseberry for which Everette was posed with camera in hand before the tartness hit our palates, confident we'd make funny faces. Yup! Shelley bought Raspberry.

We’ve known many of the people who have worked at Little Qualicum Cheeseworks over the years, so while we’ve been traveling since 2007 we’ve heard the occasional update on the farm, and now we got to check out the Mooberry Winery aspect of the farm.

Shelley and I laughed as we realized it was both of our First-Ever Wine Tasting experiences.  Fun to do it together, and actually with non-grape wines!

We went back to Shelley’s with artisan breads, blue cheese wedge and yummy fromage.  And a bottle of Rasperry Wine.
