Everette took this photo to show me the price of pasteurized goat milk he found recently in a Canadian grocery store:
Look at that price!! $7.99 Cdn for 2 litres.
I get fresh milk straight from the udders of about 8 goats for a total of just over 4 litres of milk. For a whopping 40 pesos, equivalent to approximately $3.33 Cdn. That’s about $0.83/L for milk here in Mexico vs $4/L in Canada.
Another reason I love it in Mexico!
Price of goat milk….it is soooooo regulated in Canada and U.S.A. We are paying for government regulations. I pay $5.00 for half gallon of raw goat milk but of course it is from a private individual. Mexico has far fewer regulations. We Americans and Canadians have voted for governments who regulate us into poverty.
Agreed, Lila. So much regulation because we’re a dumbed down society & don’t know how to think/decide for ourselves, we want & trust govt to take care of us. Well, not all of us do, but the vast majority do.
