Danielle was the first off the staff to help the kids start rock climbing here. She told Ev about the hot springs which we’ve enjoyed a few times. Bonus!
Laars makes it above the orange line, his big challenge, tucking his legs up to reach a new high mark.
Gaelyn finds this very challenging. Just getting her feet on the holds one row from the ground is thrilling for her. I used to call her My Pink Monkey, but she isn’t quite the climber she used to be. Actually, she used to mostly climb up on people, not things (unlike Anders). Always ready for physical touch, not heights.
Anders thrives on climbing and has since he was a toddler. I used to call him a Mountain Goat. Name still fits.
Anders to the top! Easy for him.
The kids will certainly miss the rock climbing once we leave Cortez. But they’ll be moving on to something else, maybe something new again. Don’t know. Time will tell.
