We cleaned in the morning then set out for Yuma, AZ to try and get a refund on the solar panel system we aren’t happy with. While Everette dealt with the shopping stuff (getting us wi-fi connected again, etc) we hung out at the laundromat refreshing dirty blankets and stuff while we used free wifi, did some ‘schooly’ stuff to send our facilitator/teacher and whiled away the hot afternoon.
We were heading out of town when we realized our 4G wasn’t properly activated so we pulled to the side of the road at a truckstop hiding in the shade of the big rigs. Grumbling because we’re hot, tired, and impatient the kids and I sat on the sidewalk beside a truck scale while Everette did his phoning to straighten it out with Verizon
…..and who should pedal by but John Castello. Well, he didn’t actually pedal by because he got himself outfitted a few weeks ago with this motorized bike he put together.
After an hour’s visit John invited us for burritos, a late supper at his friend Goma’s vending truck. We gave him a beer with his supper, he paid the bill. Sweet deal. John blesses us again (he bought us Little Caesar’s pizza’s the first time we met him), and in payment he gets his fill of hugs and appreciation.
