No Surfing, Just Playing

We packed up and headed  down the coastal dirt road towards San Jose where the tourist maps indicate surfing beaches.  We found Shipwreck Beach.

2013-02-25 13.53.21But the winds are high, the sea is choppy and we saw surf boards in camps and on vehicles but none catching the waves.  So these rookies took a hint that we would find surfing waves another day.

IMAG0664Today just became a Beach Day.  A super fun beach day.

The waves were unpredictable in size, some towering over our heads.  But with new boogie boards in hand we challenged them while others attempted body surfing and Laars donning a new life jacket tried to keep upright!

IMAG0679I watched the surf to make sure that all were accounted for and not in need of assistance.

We lost a snorkel mask in the surf but at the end of the day all else was accounted for.  With some extra aches, pains, and beach-rash.

I'm opinionated, friendly & chatty... I hope you are, too
