Staples have become rice and beans, pancakes, oatmeal, apples and peanut butter, corn tortillas with whatever is available for spreading or stuffing.
But when somebody goes to town one of the goals is to return with something refreshing to eat.
Moist, juicy, preferrably cold. Like frozen fruit, yogurt, juices, ice cream. What we took for granted when living contentedly in a house becomes a bigger deal when out camping with limited utilities and resources.
The simple things in life become much larger, more beautiful.
