To Yuma

It was refreshing yesterday not to drive, not to have to take down and put up the tents.  Although it was a lot of work to clean out the van, it was one of those things that was enjoyable because it was different and gave a feeling of accomplishment.

Today is overcast and we pull out before 9:30am.   We stop to observe the Generating Station.

Palms border the highway near Dateland so we veer off to check it out.  Town is a giftshop, gas station and Date Shake Quiznos, all under one roof.  We come out with chocolate covered dates and a large cactus milkshake.  Home-run.  Everybody loved the treats.

We listen to The Story of the World and there are less fights breaking out in the van while we drive to Yuma.  We find Squaw Lake Campground about 22 miles north of Yuma out by the US military Yuma Proving Grounds where we’ll spend a few days.

I'm opinionated, friendly & chatty... I hope you are, too
