The school we are registered with has a fun activity organized in the first week or so of each new school year, where those of us in the Victoria area can get together for some group fun.
Last year it was a morning with Yukon Dan, teaching the kids about gold mining and gave them opportunity to do some panning for themselves. They finished with a hot-dog lunch and free time at the playground. I missed the whole thing because I was on the mainland with my brother & family as he actually exited this realm. Thus, I have no photos from last year. Just thankful that Everette, after a night of steam cleaning and only a couple hours of sleep, packed up the anxious kids to get to the activity that was fun, educational, and a detractor from “Mom’s gone”.
This year was (thankfully) quite different. Other than Mitch missing out due to just getting over the flu, all the kids got to go, and so did Everette and I. Other than Tov getting motion sick and needing a quick Pull Over just a few corners before our destination, we had no mishaps with this fitness day. It was an enjoyable family excursion on a beautiful September afternoon…..just warm enough to melt the centre of an Oreo, which you’ll discover was a very important factor on this day.
