Fishing for Robins

We strung fishing line up between bamboo sticks to hopefully deter the deer from feasting on our garden, but never ever anticipated catching a bird.  Rauchelle fortunately heard a raucous from the kitchen and discovered a robin twisted in the line with a few other robin-friends squeaking its demise.  She ran out of the kitchen to rescue it, calling in the troops to help.  Maret brought heavy-duty rubber gloves for Rauchelle’s hands, and scissors for snipping.  The two of them managed to snip the bird’s wing free.  He/she seemed to fly away just fine, short a few feathers but given a new release on life.
