Re-growing Green Onions

We cut off the bottoms of our organic green onions, placed them in a jar (I prettied up with ribbon) with a little water and put them in the kitchen windowsill. Every couple of days we drain, rinse, and leave a bit of filtered water in the bottom, and we have new green onions growing.

Not sure how many times one can do this. I would assume we will have to buy/grow new ones and start the process over again. But we could save at least 50% price if we can re-grow them once per purchase. Not huge savings by any means, but still better than nothing. And adds greenery to our kitchen, when we haven’t yet been green thumb-ers.

Every success is one more step in the right direction.

I'm opinionated, friendly & chatty... I hope you are, too
