Pole Shattering

Speed definitely looks like a factor in this vehicle accident.  The male driver was likely speeding through the S-turn north of here, and became airborne before coming to an abrupt end after breaking the power pole, resting beside the trees with power lines across the top of the vehicle.  Power was out for hours for the downtown core of Sooke and about 2000 residents.  We had made a trip to town for the pet store, to locate some yarn for Toveli as she’s decided to start learning to crochet, and for a treat out over decaf coffee……but it was all interrupted since there was no power.  Change of plans found us going for a walk instead to get a closer glimpse of the accident scene, and do some explaining about electricity, grounding, the physics behind fast moving objects and curves and knolls, etc. to the kids.

Before heading home the power did come back on, at least in some areas enabling Maret & Gaelyn to hold the ferret again at the pet store, Toveli bought some yarn, and we shared some gluten-free treats at The Stick.

I'm opinionated, friendly & chatty... I hope you are, too
