Our Canada Day

Today the Americans celebrate Independence Day but us Canadians just celebrated our own independence day on the 1st of July.  We simply call it Canada Day.  And this is how we celebrated, down at The Flats.

We are 144 years Young.

He may be buck-teethed, but he was a symbol of the wealth of Canada.

Graceful Sliding

Axe Throwing

In Control of the Firetruck

There was a whole lot more there, too, like face painting and potato sack races, and egg-on-spoon races, but my photos won’t rotate and save for me, and I decided that you probably didn’t want to look at them all sideways so I didn’t bother posting them.  You’re welcome.

Anyways, we had such a fun time, and ended the day with fireworks, and the kids were tuckered out the next morning and had enough sun that nobody wanted to do anything.  However, when I offered to take them to Whiffen Spit with a Krakus with cream, I got a bunch of takers.  So that’s what we did.

Ever notice that there are almost always takers when its a trip to the beach, park or library?  At least at our house there are.
